Zmmerit is an anti magnetic anti tank mine coating that was used by the German between December 1943 to September 1944. It was discontinued as the German fear it is highly flamable when the tank is hit by a projectile. This was unfounded but the additional time that was needed for the coating to dry was unacceptable for war time Nazi Germany.
It was never used after Second World War as newer portable anti tank weapon made Zimmerit impractical.
